Auto levelers leaking On brand new Coach.

Quick question. Just took delivery of a new Fleetwood discovery and i noticed that 2 of the 4 auto level pistons were leaking. The tech came out and cleaned the pistons off and said debris will get up in the seals and cause them to leak. He referenced heavy machinery which i am somewhat familiar with and how they typically have a little hydraulic leaks here and there around the pistons.

I was on day 3 of my delivery and wanted to wrap things up so i took his word for it. Camped for the next two nights and when i went to head home i noticed the same two levelers left fluid marks on the concrete pad.

1) is this normal? Seems odd that two are dry and two are leaking.

2) if not is this covered under Freightliners warranty or would it fall under Fleetwood’s?

Assuming HWH Jacks. Should not be leaking.

It is not normal for jacks to leak

It is a Fleeetwood problem as Freightliner does not sell chassis with jacks installed

I'm just down the road from you in the Little Apple and we have a Fleetwood Discovery for couple years now and zero leakage from the jacks.

They should not leak or drip. Fleetwood warranty issue.

I worked on heavy equipment my whole career. Leaking hydraulic cylinders are not normal.

Leaks collect fine dirt and fine dirt causes more seal and puston wear.

Hmmm. That’s what my gut told me but i didn’t have another day to burn there waiting.

Are there any fleetwood shops near Kansas City? Closest dealer is nearly 4 hours away.

When i had my Grand Design travel trailer they would authorize independent service facilities to do repairs. Any such luck with Fleetwood?

I thought I recognized your username from Grand Design I also had one. Probably the best place to bring you coach would be Alvarado, TX down by Dallas or to the Factory repair in Decator IN. Either one only cost you time, fuel repair cost, since they have campgrounds attached to the repair center. We going up to Decatur In. in May for couple repairs and we just going to make a vacation out of it.

So you made the switch too? We liked our GD but the motorhome is just a whole different league.

I purchased at motorhome specialist in Alvarado and had the Rev service center next door set my truck up to flat tow. The guys at Rev are class acts. There is a Yogi Bear Park next door that would be great for a short vacation.

Good news is it’s not a detrimental repair that effects driving so i don’t have to rush. It is quite annoying to ha e this on a new coach though.

I had two loose fittings that I tightened, you might try to determine exactly where the fluid is leaking

No way should seals be leaking
They are good for thousands of cycles

The jack alarm and hose fittings top of jack are usually the problem for a leak.
A good link for you and Workhorse forum.
