Auto transfer switch

I'm troubleshooting an electrical issue and doing some thinking.
I'm wondering if plugged in to shore power and the generator is also running, what is the default source of power? When both sources of AC are available, which one is used?
I can do some testing and figure it out, but I thought asking here might save some time and effort.
Thanks.

Usually the Generator gets FIRST priority.

Thanks for the replies. I don't think it is relevant to my issue either way but it was something I wondered about and is good to know.

I just went through troubleshooting the transfer switch.

What appears to be the problem?

I think it's a inverter pass through problem.
I have an old HR Navigator with a Heart/freedom 2500 watt inverter. I am plugged in to 50 amp at home. I have a Samsung RF197 refrigerator that is plugged into an inverter powered plug. I went out last night to check on things and found that the power was out to the fridge.
The freedom remote panel was dead/no lights.
The remote panel has an on/off switch that was off at the time because I didn't want a utility power failure to cause my inverter to come on and drain my batteries. I would rather loose some ketchup and mustard than four Trojans.
I have found that I can leave the remote switch on and turn AC(shore) power off then back on and when AC(shore) is off, the inverter picks up, then when AC(shore) is back on the power is back on again through shore cord.
When the Freedom remote panel switch is off:
If I disconnect shore power and reconnect, the power to any inverter pass through circuits do not come on and the remote panel is dark. The remote panel has an indicator light for AC Input that does not light up in this case.

Remove the refrigerator from inverter outlet and place in its direct dedicated power outlet from load center.

I thought of this and I may do this when parked at home. I have two plugs available at the back of fridge. One is inverter and the other is not.
But I should not have to do this if everything is working as it should.

Sounds like the Inverter internal transfer switch is not functioning correctly. If that is the problem it can be rebuilt.

Based on what you have said, I tend to agree with Dr4Film.

I have had a similar problem with my Zantrex, seems to more storm related, but resetting it does not work, I do a hard reboot, disconnect from shore power and the batteries, wait a minute, then hook back up

I have a freedom 25 from the same era.

The manual instructs that the power switch on the inverter box should be turned off when using a remote switch like yours.

I do not know what the effects are of leaving that switch on because I never have turned it on and observed.

Just a thought.
