Aux battery switch

I have a 2007 Bounser Turbo Diesel. There is a switch located in the switch bank below the driver's windo that says "Aux Bat". The dealer says the switch will tie the two battery banks together if one becomes drained. I see no evidence that this switch does anything at all. I assume there is a solonoid somewhere. Does anyone know where? Thanks

They are tied together ONLY while the switch is held down... it is a momentary switch. Hold it down while cranking the engine to start.

Coach nwouldn't turn over to start. Chasssis batteries essentially dead. House batteries were charged. Held aux switch down - nothing. Still would not turn over. Again where is the solenoid? and how do you test it? Ended up with new chassis batteries and have not had to try the switch since then. But I hate it when a redundancy plan fails!

I don't know the details of your particular coach, but I would guess the solenoid wouldn't be too far from the batteries and would have some heavy guage wires atttached to handle the amperage.

If both chassis and house batteries are charged, I would have someone activate the switch while I listened for the solenoid click by the batteries. It won't hurt anything to cycle the switch while you listen. If there's no click, then you'll have to find a wiring diagram and trace some wires to find the solenoid.

Let us know what you find.
