awning

I have an 07 dutch star with an awing over the door and when I closed the door that thing shot out like a buillet, and will not come back in .
it works but will not roll up.
any one had this ? and what did you do ?

There is a cog wheel in there. It cracked and all it does is spin. That happened to mine once.
