The slideout awnings on our Windsor have anti-billowing locks. You could check to see if they can be added to yours.

I drove many miles with velcro straps or electric awning, thinking I was protected from wind issues. The best device I have found is Keith Williams' awning lock.

Last year I drove from California to New York and back with one of these installed. I didn't have any issues. Would I have had an issue without it? No-one will ever know...

x2 I asked Keith about the need for locks on the window awnings and this is his reply.

"There is not nearly as much need to put a lock on a window awning as there is on a patio awning.

However, they do unfurl occasionally. I believe, but have no proof, that this probably happens as the springs become weaker.

I am not aware of a window awning actually ripping, and certainly have never heard of one becoming a near-disaster, as often happens when a patio awning unfurls.

However, they do sometimes unfurl and I know that some people add RV Awning Travel Locks to them.

Again I have no proof of this, but I suspect most who add locks to their window awning do so after they have seen the window awning begin to unroll as they travel down the road.

Thanks for your interest in an RV Awning Travel Lock!

Cheers,

Keith Williams"
