Awning Part

Yesterday during unusually high wind gusts, I rolled up my 2 step Dometic awning on my 2011 Challenger. In the process, the awning rolled up faster than I anticipated and broke one of the "tabs" on one of the travel locks. The lock appears to be constructed of a less than hard metal and sheared off the tab that fits into the awning arm on complete closure. After going on the Dometic awning site, I discovered that the lock is not sold separately, but is only sold as part of the complete awning arm assembly. I really don't plan to buy the complete arm and wonder if anyone else has experienced a similar experience and what was the resolution.

Thanks in advance - Bronk

It sounds like it may be time to invest in some zip ties. They are cheap. Some people use them as a precaution even when nothing is broken.
