Awning Question
I have a 20ft Dometic Elite 9000 main Awning that is giving me trouble. The roller has 3 horizontal slots, one is where the pull-down strap is attached and the awning is attached in the other two slots. Over time, the awning has slipped about an inch in the slots on the roller toward the rear. This causes the roller and supports to be mis-alligned when it rolls up and I have to get up on a ladder to push everything toward the rear to get it to seat properly. I've tried "pulling" the awning material forward on the roller several different ways.....but so far no success, it will not budge! Anybody know how to do this? Rook

There should be a small sheet metal screw at one end of the awning. Take the screw out and with two people one holding the awning arm, and the other pulling the fabric it should move. It is not easy, but it will go. Once you have it back in place and tested, reinstall the screw. It is there to stop the awning from moving.

Initially, I looked for something like a screw or ? holding the awning and there is nothing I could see. That may be why it has slipped toward the rear. Rook

Because of the screw set into the top of the awning, any movement I get is in the awning tube itself. Generally, taking the weight off the tube allows me to slide the fabric one way or the other. A spray of silicone can't hurt.

On my last MH the factory had applied a small amount of clear silicone adhesive along with the material in the track. I needed to remove it before I could slide the material in the track. It was applied at a varieity of spots rather than throughout. It does provide some stability in the awing to stop the missalignment that is giving you problems. The screw was there as well, however it seemed to me that all it was for was to keep the material from trying to slide out the end.
(only an observation from lookig at one awining)

UGH, another complication.....when I tried to lift the roller to relieve the tension on the awning so it might be easier to slide in the tracks, I discovered that the roller lock works on the downside but not on the upside. So, when I lift the roller it just rolls up, keeping the tension on the awning. After several attemps to overcome this and failures. I'm currently stymied! Rook
