Question Awning removal

We have a 2002 Class A which we bought used. We are replacing the awning. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get the awning to slide out of the rail if it seems stuck? It just won't budge. Thank you so much.

Are there any screws holding the awning in the track?

Once all screws are removed, spray the track and cording generously with a silicone spray, then let it sit for half an hour or so.

On mine I used a large flat screwdriver to carefully widen the C channel a bit all along the length.

This will do it or you can get right up to the awning rail and attempt to move the awning just a bit over the whole length. It won't move much, probably a 1/16 or so at best, but it should tell you where it's hung up. A favorite trick of some installers is to squeeze the ends of the rail for an inch or six as well as use the traditional end screws. Check that closely too and apply a screwdriver as needed.

Good luck
