Awning Sun Screen

Looking for a Sun Screen for an electric awning. I found one at Shade Pro that is made for an electric awning and supposedly rolls up with the awning. Is there anyone using this type sun screen.

I have the CareFree sun blocker. It is a real pain to put up and take down. I wish that I had known about the Shade Pro before hand. I like the idea about the body and the insert. There is no way I could roll up my setup with the awning.

We bought the ShadePro a couple of years ago and are very satisfied with it. The top part rolls up with the awning with no problems and the bottom part simply folds up and put in a basement storage. Always seems like that we have to park with the awning side of the motorhome facing the afternoon sun and the ShadePro really helps keep the interior of our house cooler and the refer works a bunch better. Very satisfied.

Gary....Make sure you order the Shade Pro correctly. They come in different lengths and "drops" depending on the height of your awning.

Let's say with your coach in an average level campsite and your awning is out, that the measurement from the ground to your awning roller (when extended) is 8 feet, too tall for you to reach without a ladder. You can order the Shade Pro with a 18" drop which means you can zipper in the larger portion without getting a ladder. If your awning roller is 9 feet high, you may want the 24" drop so that it's easy to reach.

So.....you need to know the length of the shade. color of the shade and the "drop" that you want.

I ordered the Shadepro and so far ok. I suggest you order the 12 inch drop. I'm pretty sure the drop to the zipper comes in multiples of a foot. I first ordered the 3 foot drop and then the 6 foot panel below the zipper. The roller motor could not handle the 3 foot panel and it would not fit inside metal shield when I did get it rolled up. You definitely don't want to burn out the roller motor. The 1 foot drop to the zipper appears to roll up ok so far and it's just long enough to reach and zip the panel on or off. People at Shadepro we're helpful and all it cost extra was the shipping.

Don't know about Shade Pro or any brand product, however while we were in south Texas many of the flea markets that catered to the "Winter Texans" had an upholstery shop in them and you could have one built (almost as you waited) to your needs. They seemed reasonable to me. Here in Florida, the one flea Market I have visited had a few ready made of different sizes and lengths but choices were few.

Rambler, the business in the Florida is Beasley MFG. and they are in the Webster Flea Market. Saw his work at a rv park we stayed in and will be ordering one from him this week.

Just wondering, anyone know how do these shades do in the wind? Seems wherever we go the wind is always blowing.

I don't see any place on the Shade Pro web site to specify the length of the two pieces separately. The order page just gives total drop, anywhere from 6 to 10 feet, for the Vista shade on an electric awning. It says the lower part is always 6 feet and the insert varies according to total drop, i.e. anywhere from 0-4 feet. You don't get a choice.
