Back-up Camera

On my 2000 Bounder 39Z the back up camera stopped working the monitor lights up but no picture. What type of wiring is going to the camera. Is there 12v, a ground, and the video cable. How do you troubleshoot the system so I order the right parts. Thank You.

back up camera

Yes, 12v power, ground and video input cables. Check all connections for tightness. Make sure all the wires and cables are secure. Check both at the monitor and at the camera. If they all seem good, then it may be a burned out monitor. If you can remove it, take it to a TV repair place and see if they can check it out.

Good luck!

Happy Trails!

A good replacement is the Rearview Safety Backup camera from COSTCO. Its cheaper thru them than from Rearveiw Safety Backup Camera System | Rear View Backup Camera | RearViewSafety.com

I installed one in my rig. It took longer to run the cable and get it all tied up. A 60 foot cable is plenty long enough for a 34' motor home with plenty left over. The cable runs down the back, undr the coach and up into the dash. Looks good too, one day I will get pics

Take the camera off. Disconnect the wiring and tape it down so as not to loose it in the rear cap. Take the monitor out and plug the camera straight into the monitor. If it works you have a wiring harness or connection problem. I have extra monitor and camera for testing a system with to determine which is bad.
