Back-Up Camera Replacement

We just had a service tech come out and check our back-up camera which stopped working. He said the monitor is fine but the camera has failed. He recommended replacing with a wireless system. Does anyone know where/if I can by a used camera? If not, any recommendations on a low cost wireless system for a 1995 Fleetwood Pace Arrow 35 ft?

Appreciate any help.

Welcome to the forum..
E-bay has a variety, used could be a roll of the dice. With used electronics, be careful.
General google search will produce several suppliers...
Have fun...enjoy the ride!

I did a rearview safety system to replace m mine. went from single camera B/W with CRT monitor to a 3 camera color setup with a nice sized LCD for $400. Running a wire (or 3) isnt hard.

Rearview safety can make any system wireless they sell the wireless transmitter and reciever for every one of their cameras. I talked to them about a camera system for my truck when I had a 5th wheel. Then bought the Mh with backup cameras. First time I have to replace an OEM camera I will replace whole system with rearview system.

You can talk to their tech department they are very knowledgeable. If you tell them what camera system you have they can tell you the connections to make to adapt their camera to your original wire system. If you cannot do the wireing go to somewhere like BEst buy and see if one of their techs would wire it for you

If you have a GPS with the capability you may buy a wireless backup camera from Amazon. I would opt for the camera akeyzoo linked though, side cameras eliminate blind spots.

COSTCO Online or go to Backup Camera System | Rear View Backup Camera | RearViewSafety.com.
I installed one my previous coach. It took about 3 hours because I wanted to make sure the cable was properly tied up. I only bought the Rearview and not the 3 camera system but this company has great products and they are easy to install.

Ours "failed" a while ago. Found out the cable had come out of the back of the monitor. I remember one of the cats getting up in there so I guess....
Anyway, it was a cheap fix, maybe an hour to pull the dash apart, find the problem and put it back together.
Are you sure it's the camera?

I have a Aladdin Jr. system in my 2006 Diplomat, 3 camera system.
All the reading I did first convinced me it was the old Aladdin boxes in my dash.
I bought the Sliverleaf replacement electronics.

Aladdin To SilverLeaf Conversion | SilverLeaf Electronics, Inc.

Hooked everything up and it worked for a little while. Then my Weldex monitor
failed. Bought exact a replacement monitor, it failed too (burned up transistor on
printed circuit board, just like first Weldex)

Seems my Aladdin Jr. gear my have been OK all along.

Anyone have ideas on how to further troubleshoot this system?

Are you meaning a GPS with an video output to inter-connect
with a back up camera system?

Also, what is 'akeyzoon' ?

I would call the company that you bought it from and ask to speak to a tech. If i was going to take a wild guess I would guess that you have one of your signal grounds and your power grounds mixed up. But that would be just guessing. They should have a tech that has seen your problem before if it is just a wiring issue and can probably tell you where to look. It might be something like not having enough space around it for air flow to cool the board again manufacturer tech should know about those kind of issues.

Sounds reasonable.

Are you meaning the monitor (Weldex) company?

By the way, the Weldex has a somewhat non-standard (at least to me) multi-pin
connector. Is there any chance Sony or one of the other monitor mfg's
us that same type connector?

On the other hand, if there is a ground or power problem on one of
my cameras, I might fry a 3rd monitor correct?

Thanks

Yes I meant a GPS with a video input jack for connecting a camera. Sorry akeyzoo, I'm not the best typist.
