Backing into campsite

Hello,

some time ago I found a video which showed a 3 (?) step system on how to backup your rig into a campsite. The system required marks on the RV and then turn when the mark lined up with an exterior mark. Does anybody know what video I'm talking about and can share the link? I just can't find it anymore.

thanks,
P.

I do it the easy way, put DW in drivers seat while I'm outside directing her which way to turn steering wheel, when to back and when to stop--works real well no stress--she does a great job backing our coach into the space.

I watched the video last spring. While it gave me good ideas the first time I tried it I took the front clearance light out on a post. I found it better to review the site, and decide where you want the duals to go and then have your DW direct you into that spot. That video works if you have a wide path to drive infront of. Most of the state parks we go to are small is width. Practice a few times and you will be fine. I can now back ours into the garage with almost no help.

Good Luck
Arnold

I back in while DW gives hand signals that only God understands . Its a good system as we have not hit a thing. A few harsh words on occasion but all is forgotten once one gets set up, and has an adult beverage in hand.

We use walkie tralkies and it works great. Either one of us can do the backing with the walkies in use.

Always use pull throughs for units 35' or more. if the cg doesnt have them go until you find one that does. case closed.

Heh, heh, I have learned through experience not to depend on my beloved wife to give me directions while backing our motorhome. It seems as her definition of hand signals differ greatly from my definition. I have been unable to learn hers and she has been unable to learn mine, so I just leave her to her "walking the dog" duties while I go about backing the coach. Most of the time, it is a simple procedure, but if it seems to be a more difficult task, I will exit the coach and decide what I need to do in order to back the coach in. This procedure has definitely prevented us from having "discussions" regarding the back up process. It has worked out very well.
