Hook jumpers up to the monitor directly and make sure your 'mishap' didn't fry the electronics in the monitor. The rear camera system is usually powered by the ignition switch and/or relay the switch controls. Are there any other things that also aren't working? Fuses can look good and still be bad, I'd check each fuse to make sure it's good.
