Backup Cameras on Sale

Just a heads up for anyone wanting to update their backup camera. Woot dot com owned by Amazon and a big internet discount site has some $300-$400 back up camera systems for trucks buses and RV's for sale for low to mid $100. They have both a wired (50 ft wire) and wireless version...the wireless version monitor can handle 2 wired and 2 wireless camera's. They also have dual camera's on sale.

If anyone is interested, go to woot dot com, then look under their electronics tab. I have no interest in woot but had wanted to update my bw backup camera and this seemed like a relatively inexpensive way to do so.

Sky Pilot,

How well does your system work? Do you get any interference or dropped signal? Have you ever had to contact customer support, and if so, how was their response?

The sale price of the wireless camera AND monitor is $130, which is unbelievably low. Similar wireless systems are 3 to 5 times the price.

It looks like the cameras are wireless, but is it correct to assume that they still need 12V run to them? Or do they run on batteries?
Also, where do you find the extra wireless camera?

I just ordered the system and thought such a good deal, I posted. If you have not heard of Woot, they are a very deep discount site used to liquidate overstock. Often the overstock is due to a newer model coming out, or often it is an item not selling. They sell a lot of name brand computers including tablets. These are normally quick sales and you often never see the item again, they list new products every night after 1 a.m. and often the product is sold out by morning as many people including me, check them out late at night during a sleep intermission or whatever. Amazon bought Woot a couple of years back and now they offer a lot more products each day. I found Woot through an article in WSJ years back, they mentioned the success of their business model. So successful that Amazon paid big $ for it and built on it. I have found some huge steals on Woot, often name brand electronics. They only let you buy 3 of any item. We often buy electronics the kids or grandkids would like for presents and have a stockpile by Christmas time or B days.

Pyle started years back as a speaker Mfg and now morphed into an electronics Mfg. that uses Woot often. I have purchased many electronics and marine radios and speakers (home and marine) and Wi-Fi portable with rechargeable batteries that sound very good, as well as other items over the years much not through Woot. I never had any issues that needed calling customer service and very satisfied with any Pyle product I have purchased. Go to pyleaudio.com and see website if you have any interest.

I had purchased a wireless backup camera for a car a few years back and it had a lot of interference, but assume that technology has improved as I have some wireless security cameras that are 500% better than what they offered a few years back. What appealed to me on this deal was the monitor has connections for 4 camera's total. Two wired and two wireless. I ordered an additional double wired camera from the site. The total for the system with one camera and a 2nd dual camera was >$200 with shipping.

By the time I receive them and install, they will be long gone from Woot. I may give a review once installed.

If nothing else, anyone who sees this might want to go to the Woot.com site and see what is on sale. Before, Amazon bought them, I would always google the item I was buying and never found it cheaper anywhere.

My wife watches site now, which is my mistake as they often offer designer items like purses, sun glasses and even clothing at big discounts. Now there are 2 of us watching Woot and going broke saving $.
