Bad diesel fuel

In reading a post about using Murphy's for fuel comments are made about having purchased bad diesel from some smaller fuel station so my question is who has purchased bad fuel, when and where? Personally, I've been driving diesel pick ups and motorhomes for over 20 years and have not had a bad experience with diesel.

Knock on wood, I have not had an issue with bad diesel fuel. Was told by the person who helped me learn how to drive my coach that I should always purchase diesel fuel from truck stops which have a large turn over in fuel.

Always followed that advice.

I only but diesel at stations that have high turnover rates. I'll pay a bit extra to get good fuel at truck stops.

I am careful about where I purchase my fuel. I only buy from busy truck stops or fuel stations that sell a lot of fuel. I never purchase fuel when they are filling the tanks.

Traveled for 7 yrs all across US using backroads/secondary roads and buying diesel at MANY small out if the way stations.....

A lot of them had pumps with #1, #2 and Dye so you had to pay attention which pump you used.

NOPE...no bad diesel

My buddy always fills his MH at high turn over stations
100 gallons ----didn't even get out of station.
Course HE was at fault.......pumped GAS

In the past 15 years of using diesel I have never had any problems using diesel from the most economical stations we can fit into.

But as Old-Biscuit brought up the subject of gasoline in diesel, that is one of my biggest fears, inadvertently using the wrong hose at the pump. I saw a diesel generator try to run on gasoline once. On my, that sure wasn't a pretty sight

Bought diesel fuel at a Murphy's and I regretted it. The vehicle ran like crap until I could run the bad fuel out. It has been the only bad diesel fuel I had gotten to date.

Not even a month ago, here in Phoenix AZ at the QT station their truck driver dumped a tanker truck full of diesel gas into to the the unleaded tank. QT is standing behind all the vehicles that have been affected and having them repaired on their dime.

I think someone is without a job along with upcoming lawsuits against QT.

Do you suppose some of the "bad diesel" reports should be "should have changed filters per schedule" reports?

Or, "Diesel should have been treated" reports?

I bought a DP that had been driven 4,000 miles in 9 years. The in-line fuel screen filter had never been changed causing a few interruptions during my first trip.

I rescued a freind that bought fuel and made it a few miles and came to a stop next to a guy that had just bought fuel at the same station. It was mostly water that we drained out. So it does happen.

Thus far 2 out of 10 replies have had a problem with. I wouldn't think it near that high.

Been buying diesel since '93. Never any bad diesel. I have seen a few filters that I'm glad were changed.

I've been buying diesel for nearly 20 years for my Dodge and more recently my RVs, with never an issue. I've made an effort not to buy from what appear to be low-volume stations as a matter of course.
