I have several items in my coach that don't work. When I checked the fuse panels under the dash, I found several that had no power to them. I checked the fuses and they were good, but there was no power to either side of the fuse. I don't have a wiring diagram to know which fuse is for what accessory. Is there a "master fuse" that operates several smaller fuses? I am at a loss as to where to go from here. My coach is a 2000 Discovery on a Freightliner chassis.

If you contact Freightliner @ 1-800-FTL-HELP (24x7) and provide them your VIN # they should be able to provide you the info you are seeking. Also, if you register @ www.AccessFreightliner.com and have your coach registered to you, if it is not already, then you will have access to the wiring diagrams and much more information about your coach.

Which systems, Chassis or Coach ? F/L will help with Chassis related items , but the Coach manufacturer hooks in to the F/L harness, for some items, and installs all the wiring that runs off the coach batteries. So they would be the source of info for those.Items like power seats are a crossover; levelers , power step and interior lights are coach.

They are all coach related problems Skip. Things like the power drivers seat, the overhead windshield fans, exterior porch lights, etc.

Some of the fuses are only hot, when the key is on!

My Newmar,DSDP has circuit breakers in line, from the coach battery power stud, before the fuse panel. 5C/B's total , 2 feed the fuse panel, 1 for straight battery power, the other is relay controlled from the ignition switch. If your coach has similar wiring , it could be a C/B fault, some C/B's have to be manually re-set by a small black push-button on the side, but you have to track them down first. The other possibility is that if your fuse panel is like mine ,it's on a printed circuit board, and that board may have developed cracks in the circuitry, so the power get to some fuses and not to others. If all the dead fuses are in one area of the fuse panel , this is very possible.Some damage to circuit boards is repairable, by soldering over cracks if there is room ,or jumpering around the crack/burnt area. if there is not. Being from different manufacturers, I doubt that picturesof my wiring would be of any help; but I can try to post them if you want.If you are going to remove the fuse panel disconnect all batteries first.

Thank you Skip. That is exactly the type of info that I was looking for. I figure that the fuse panel has to be controlled by something. A master circuit breaker sounds like exactly the culprit.

Fleetwood often puts large main fuses in the lines that feed from the batteries to the smaller fuse panels. My coach has a 100A and a 300A main fuse in the battery compartment near the batteries.

You might call Fleetwood Customer Service and ask (have your FIN# handy - they will ask for it). They will send you the wiring diagrams for your year and model too.

If it IS a circuit board repair, you can scrape the insulation off of the broken foil runs and use a bare solid wire soldered across the breaks to repair the connection AND reinforce the board. I have done this with both industrial control boards AND dropped TVs..
