bad house battery installation

bought 2 new interstate 6V batteries dealer mis installed hooked both battery cables up to positive terminals jumped across both negative terminals got several instrument faults drove 2 miles correctly hooked up in serial now some 12 volt functions don't work and none with generator running will take back to dealer but blown fuses, circuit breaker, relays or what? a lot of places to look any help appreciated

WOW...

When you say "dealer" are you talking about the battery dealer or a MH dealer? Regardless, someone needs to correct this at THEIR cost.

I don't have any directly related suggestions but will follow this with interest.

What make & model of RV do you have?

was an Interstate Battery dealer
he's concerned just want to try and isolate problem before I take it back
give him a shot and then he'll have to deal with RV service center for diagnostic/repair

I would think no real damage coach would have thought batteries dead, check generator output breakers maybe converter inverter fuses and breakers ron

Most likely "Damage" is a blown fuse.. Easily replaced, or even easier, a tripped circuit breaker or two.

This assumes they were hooked up like this

-Bat+
-ery+

as you know the proper way is -Bat+-ery+12 volts

By the way folks, As you can see in my example the two six volt units make one battery .. Think of them that way and a whole lot of questions go POOF.
