Baggage door Latch

We've broken the slide bolt latch that hold the baggage door closed. They have "nylon" looking slide bolts that seem to break over time. I know where to find the original equipment ones that are on the coach in the sig. but I recently saw some advertised that were metal slide bolts instead of the nylon material. Anyone have any idea where I can find the ones I saw that are metal???

Thanks

I would go for stainless steel, because of rust, and those are available at your friendly marine supply.

Good luck.

I did find the ad for those with aluminum bolts.......in the back of the FMCA magazine.

We live in coastal Florida and have spent enough in marine stores to own one. I've never seen the basement door latches there at all. If you spot one there please post the name of the store and part number so I can buy one. Thanks

Could this be what you are talking about? Perhaps I am misunderstanding your term slide bolt.

He is talking about the "sliding bolt latch" shown here Products / Latches | TriMark Corporation with a metal bolt instead of nylon.

I bought three of the nylon type before I saw the metal ones in the FMCA magazine. Since I have only broke one in seven years, hopefully the three will be enough to last me. Of course the nylon could be getting brittle as it ages in which case I may end up wishing I had got the metal ones.
I did lube all of my latches with some lithium grease so hopefully they will last.

I think that Trimark Corporation has the latches you are talking about.
