Basement cargo door latch

On my 2001 Winnebago Brave there are several door latches that do not pop out and lock. For that reason the doors are not secure. How do I go about fixing the latches?

Have you tried some W-D spray on them to see if they loosen up

Better off using a straw tip and silicone spray

If the latch plungers are plastic as are mine, they are probably proken off and you are looking at the remaining stub. The replacement latches memtioned in a previous post is the way to go. I am going to make my own aluminum plungers when I replace my broken ones. LR

Replacements are available at any Camping World. I always carry a spare as the plastic plungers break off. They are about 25% of the cost of the aluminum ones available online.

I am a CW member and do purchase a lot of stuff from them, however I am a do-it-yourself dud. As I memtioned in my post, I will engineer my own aluminum replacement plungers. I can remove the rivets that hold the latch assy. togenther and reinstall new rivets. As I mentioned I have found that the mouldings that must me removed to access the latch does not remove easy. I plan to heat the mouldings to soften the epoxy asto allow removal of the mouldings. I enjoy paying myself the hundrends of dollars that I save by doing these things myself. Plus I am on a fixed income and I can use the cash. Thanks for your comments.
