Batteries

I will be changing out my chassis batteries on a 2005 Expediton on a Freightliner chassis. I am curious to know once the power from the batteries is disconnected will I lose any info? For example, on board computers, my electronic odometer etc.

The dash radio might need the time reset on it.

This is a old mechanics trick, 9 volt battery and two wires with aligater clips. + to + and - to - to the battery cables before you disconnect the battery. Saves radio settings. You can by a fancy one that plugs into the cig lighter and works the same way but costly for a one time use.

Odometer will remain where it is, Dash radio may loose time and pre-set stations, It may also loose "optional" features like on mine the AUX inuput.

SOME engine control computers my loose thier "Fine tuning" For the next 50 miles or so, some won't.
