Is it okay to leave my batteries in our motorhome over the winter (Ontario Canada )
I have the rig plugged into hydro 24/7 Also every once in a while when the streets are clear of salt, I will take it out for a drive.

thanks

It's ok, but check battery voltage, if over 13.8, you could need to add water now and then. Also so coaches do not charge chassis battery when plugged in.

Steve, I'm in Ontario too and keep the coach plugged in as well. I also installed a trickle charger on the chassis battery as it is not charged by the converter. As was said, keep an eye on the water level.

Instead of leaving your RV plugged in all winter, get a couple fully automatic battery chargers like the Deltron Super Smart Battery Tender and your batteries will stay charged without overcharging and you won't have to worry about adding water. I've used mine for years now and my batteries last for a very long time before needing replacement. I take my batteries out for the winter because we store out RV in a storage building without access to the electricity, but I used to store our trailer in the back yard and always left the battery in it and just hooked up the battery tender, we never had any problems with it.

Thankyou Steve and Nancy. I will consider the idea of getting a couple of battery chargers.

Check out this site. I've used this for the last three years. I switch my batteries to storage mode and use the battery minder.
