Where can I buy new battery hold down straps for my house batteries?
Thanks.

Ebay would be one place.

Auto parts or marine stores would also have battery hold down straps.

Amazon also has them.

Google images also has many variations on battery hold down straps.

I don't know if it is a good idea, but I have been running for the last 20,000 miles without hold-down straps on mine, without any problems.

That's 20,000 miles without an emergency stop. If a battery shifts or flips over, spilling acid or shorting out, you'll be more able to decide if a battery strap is a good idea or not.

I have new battery hold down straps on my fix list, but it's near the bottom. I'm just not sure they are capable of holding down a heavy battery in an emergency.
It would be nice if they made some with stainless steel or or heavy plastic hooks that do not corrode.

I replaced mine with a product on the shelf at Home Depot. 8' x 1" lashing strap.

Look in the boating section of your local Walmart Sporting Goods department. They usually have nylon battery hold down straps which contain no metal.

I purchased some velcro straps from this place for some other uses. But I think that they might have what you are looking for.
