Battery question

Hello everyone, I have a 2001 fleetwood discovery 37v. It has 2-12 v chassis batteries and 4-6v house batteries. As of now they are all standard flooded batteries. I have a 2000 w magnum inverter. I was thinking about switching to agm house batteries when I am due. When I am plugged in or on generator power the inverter charges all batteries. Since I believe the charging parameters are different for different types of batteries will I have to use agm for house batteries as well? My thinking is yes but wanted to check in with folks. I think you mean for chassis batteries also.

No you don't. Set the Inverter/charger for AGM and your flooded chassis batteries will be fine with that setting.

It's quite likely that the charging system in a 2001 does not have an AGM setting at all, but it's not a reason to avoid them. The difference in the profile between flooded and AGM is small and the impact on AGM batteries in typical use is very limited and maybe even insignificant. The AGM charging profile is optimum for long battery life, but there are so many factors affecting batteries in an RV that the difference may not be observable.

Certainly works well for my house Trojan T105's and Chassis batteries

Thanks for the reply’s. It’s good to know that I can switch to agm house batteries without switching chassis batteries also
