3 battery notes;
1 take plenty of pictures and label wires before removing.
2 If using wet cell batteries take a tip from Thomas Edison and put about
5cc of mineral [baby] oil in each cell. This oil will prevent the bubbles
created when the battery is charged from popping with force and
spraying electrolyte 'all over' the cell. This also helps prevent
terminal corrosion.
3. I LOVE Interstate batteries, BUT I'm a cheapskate! Not actually, but
I watch my money. Anyway, the best deal is to find out the spec's
of the battery you need, and call the Interstate DISTRIBUTOR-not
a dealer, not a big box store or the gas station, but the distributor.
When you call ask for their ECONO brand, about 1/2 to 2/3 the price
of a new one. And a IIRC 6 month, no question warranty.
I have bought probably 15 of them over the years, and had to return
only one!
