Battery starting issue

I have a THOR 30q 2004 . I was getting it ready for winter and noticed when I went to start it, the it would not crank over..it appeared it was dead. I also noticed the chassis switch light not glowing green. I was able to start it using the aux switch and the house battery. Checked voltage on the battery cold 12.95 volts. I plugged the unit into shore power , the chassis light started to glow and the unit started no problem.. It appears possibly a bad switch or could it be something else.. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Joe

If the battery voltage is 12.95 without being plugged in to shore power your problem is a bad connection somewhere. Nothing wrong with the battery. Check the ground cable from the battery bank to the chassis for starters.

On my system, the house batteries have to be charged at a minimum of 13.3 volts for those batteries to permit the charge to go through them to the chassis batteries. It's a goofy system, but that's how it works...my coach would not start a while back...and that's why.
