BBQ Question
Folks,
I love the Weber Q2000 BBQ and Collapsible Stand.
Should I bring my 20# Propane Bottle with longer hose or just use my rig's propane tank?
I see pluses and minus to both options.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

We prefer to use the tank on the coach. Don't really like having the portable tank in the basement.

If you use the the onboard propane you will have to connect before the regulator or remove the regulator from the Weber. There is not enough pressure with both regulators in line. We bought a small 5 gal propane bottle that works great. I found mine at Northern Tool for $19.95 but they don't carry them anymore in my area.

Best to connect after the regulator and remove Weber regulator. Rather have the LP propane running thru 10' hose rather than High pressure.
Tied in to coach or trailer on 4 different units and much prefer it that way. Rather not carry a portable tank.

We use the coach propane. Removed the regulator on the weber. Been using the weber for years. Best setup for RV use.

Yep, remove the regulator because your coach's LP is low pressure and will not work.

Eliminating the portable tank also eliminates one more worry: Did I store it safely?
Plus, your local LP gas company can install a quick-connect on a "T" and mount it solidly in the tank compartment. "Snapwhoosh!" it's done and ready to cook!
Being from the South, I'm gonna let you slide this time on the difference between "BBQ" and "cookout." (I'dn' that nyyce of me??  )

The following link is to rv quick connect hoses. Give them your exact situation and they can make a custom hose for you.
My coach already had low pressure run to a basement compartment with a standard gas cutoff. This part would actually be quite easy with some flex gas line a few fittings and some plastic wire loom to protect the line from any abrasion. Add a female quick connect, and hose from Tejas and you are done.

How long of a hose should I get? I was thinking at least 15 feet so the Bbq can be away from the RV and to not make the hose a trip hazard.
Your experience will be appreciated.

My coach has the Stay-A-While which is a fitting between the shut off valve and regulator. A 12 foot hose connects to the fitting and simply connects to my Q where the one lb. bottle screws in. This way I have the option of connecting to the main tank or rolling the Q down by the lake and using the bottle. the entire setup can be purchased out of the Camping World Catalog, page 27 for less than $100.00.

Our new MH is all eclectic and so are many of the newer MH's. Not much the new coach owners can do.
