Our floor plan is a 43' w\tag, bath and a half (half bath midship/full bath aft of the the bedroom) - with a king size "sleep number" bed with the headboard in a curbside slide. Changing bedding is a bit of a pain (gotta wrestle the mattress a bit to get the sheets properly situated at the headboard).

We've also had to adjust our definition of what constitutes a properly "made" bed at bit. There's simply not enough space between the mattress and the "nightstands" that run along the top couple feet of the bed to tuck in the bedspread and/or comforter. We've made peace with the reality that no matter what we do - a "made" bed isn't going to be perfect next to the "nightstands".

We've concluded that if this is our "problem" ... we ain't got no problems at all!

Thanks so much to everyone that took time to share your experiences and tips with us I think when doing walk-throughs at dealer lots we have some more ways to evaluate pro/con bedroom layout now. Thanks again!

Safe travels to all

We had a lower end class a coach (Forest River FR3) up until a few months ago. It had a king-size bed with the headboard on a slide out. There were several reasons that I did not like this.

1) The slide was fairly deep so in order to make the bed I had to sit on the bed to do the top corners. Very awkward and it never looked nice.

2) Ours had no actual nightstands so I had to use the valance over the windows to keep things at the bedside.

3) Because it was a low end coach there was very little insulation which meant that when the slide was out, your head was outside where it was much colder than your body which was inside the coach and covered by a blanket.

4) The good part was that there were windows on either side of the bed so it made a nice cross breeze when the weather was nice.

Good luck in your shopping adventure.
