Cool Bedroom slide leak

We have a 2002 Itasca Suncruiser with a bedroom leak in the lower right corner as you look from the outside. I know where its coming in but can't seem to stop it. I think its time for a new seals. Has anyone installed them yourself and is it that hard??

Thanks
jeagle

Put the slide out half way out and replacing seal can be done. It is not easy, especially if you have any arthritis in the hands but even so is doable.

Reproduce the leak with a garden hose before replacing seals. Its possible that it is not a rubber seal. Could be one of many seams on the box of the slide.

I had a leak like that too.. Finally found it.. Though the water was indeed running off the lower, in my case LEFT corner as you looked at it from inside.. The leak was on TOP of the slideout.

Turns out the top seal looked like this

| The Seal

_ the Top of the slide

(NOT TO SCALE)

Note the gap

I was able to extend the seal so now it's more like this

/

No leaks no more

Had a similar problem. It didn't always leak, maybe one out of five storms.

Happened to be on the roof one day while the slide was extended. Guess what. The slide topper had completely puled away from the frame all through the middle but was still attached on the ends. When you were looking at it from the ground you couldn't tell that it was not attached in the middle.
I had the bedroom and living room slide toppers repaired and so far so good. However, we haven't been out in rain more than one trip.
We're headed across country in January so that will be a good test.

bedroom slide leak

Thanks for your suggestions. wa8yxm and arch. I have isolated the leak to the lower right corner of the slide as you look from the outside. I am continuing to look for where it is coming in. It seems to me it has to be around the seal somewhere. Thanks again jeagle.

I don't know if this is your problem, I have a 02 Bounder and if you put the bed room slide all the way out it will leak in the left hand corner looking from the foot of the bed, Now if I bring the slide back in just a little it solves the problem, I notice when I do put it all the way out the head of the bed will raise so when I bring it back in a little it will level out and no leak, Hope this helps.
