Bedroom Slide/Motor

2005 National Seabreeze 8321 LX

This is the third time we've had a problem with this motor in less than a year.
The coach is at a mechanic's in Amarillo, and they are making major modifications and design changes to upgrade the system to prevent this problem from recurring. Some parts are being fabricated and therein lies the problem. We are at the mercy of the company making the parts... and they are working on their own time frame. We have a state park campground host gig in NM and HAVE to be there. The current plans are to pick it up this coming Friday no matter what the condition. The shop has pushed it in and out several times and we will do this once or twice before we get to the state park... with help of course.

I do not have access to the coach literature. I have two questions. Is there a way to manually "wind" the slide in and out? What is the recommended way to "lock" the slide in the "in" position. The repair shop has removed the motor, but I believe some of the assembly (whatever that might be) might still be in place.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Any idea what brand of slide mechanism the coach has, Power Gear ? , Lippert ? or what part is breaking or binding to overload the motor , or why it just doesn't blow a circuit breaker before the motor fails?

Most systems can be manually operated, but one that I worked on depended on the friction of the motor to hold the slide in/out, so if you move the coach without the motor , you may have to fabricate manual slide locks before you transport the coach.
