Beep noise under dash , Monaco 2003 Camelot

We have a 2003 Monaco Camelot which for no reason started beeping under dash, continuously. No dash panel lights going off, gauges normal, driving normal. Search revealed speaker under dash connected to harness with no apparent issues. Only occurs while in drive or reverse, even when not moving. Allison and Cummins inspection showed no codes or issues. Drives normal. Any suggestions on where to look.

Drivers seat interlock ???. Ours needs to be locked into driving position or alarm sounds.

I had similar issue on my diplomat

I had the same issue on my diplomat, When I purchased it from lazy days. I was told it is a bad sensor that thinks the air brake hasn't been released enough yet . Anyway only happened when it was in gear. I had the tech check it out and there is a small box under the left side of the dash with the sound box for the beep. He just cut the wire to it, said it happens all the time on the Monaco's....... So no more sound. Not really a safety issue as there is a light in the dash that lets you know if the parking brake is still engaged

I had a 2004 diolomat..... This was just last May 2014.

Had beep on our DP. Couldn't figure it out so finally took it to a Freightlier dealer. Tech asked what electrical attachments we had installed. I mentioned surge protector, but that wasn't it. Only other thing was the road, which we always have connected. He disconnected the umbilical cord, and the beep stopped. Turned out the cord was not making good contact on the small end (4 post connector) to the road. Problem identified problem fixed. He said beep in coach was giving a signal that the toad brake circuit was showing a problem

I have a problem with disconnecting the sound source to correct a problem! Even though that particular problem may be minor, other more serious problems may need that sound source!

"whooser" Monaco installed a secondary engine coolant alarm on many of their coaches. We were driving our brand new coach home and the first grade we pulled, we heard this noise that grew into an alarm as engine temp went up. We stopped and called Monaco. They said this secondary alarm was not necessary, as Cummins has it's own alarms/lights.

On mine it was a small black box under the removable dash cover. It's not needed. There is also one for your parking brake alarm. Disconnect the unit, but double check it's not the one for your parking brake by putting the coach in neutral, with the parking brake off and take your foot off of the brake pedal. If an alarm sounds, you're good to go.

We had a problem that might be similar. The beeping started when trans in gear. It would usually stop beeping, but that could take several miles. We thought it was low hydraulic fluid in the jack reservoir. Turned out to be a defective pneumatic switch in the parking brake valve. Difficult to troubleshoot. Easy to fix.

Our 2005 Caymen has that darned beeping noise too. In our case, it happens when it we are driving on we pavement. When the rains first start, the beeping starts out at a low level and as things get wetter it gets louder and more distinct. Then as things dry out, it diminishes and finally goes away. Truly annoying!!! When the beeper, I will disable it. It is hard to locate the beeper as it only goes off when I am driving. :-(

Kinda like placing black tape over the ABS light that will not go out.
Our MH sounds a single chime sound about once a month. I found the speaker, but nothing else. I'll continue to listen the chime sound.

"RogerSmalley".....the parking brake beeper issue (Nason switch) is VERY common on the Monaco's. I replaced three of them over ten years. The OP says his stays on all the time, so I doubt it's the parking brake beeper. For those with the parking brake beeper issue, you can often push down hard and quick on the parking brake and make it stop....helpful in diagnosing.
