I need to order one asap for a 38' coach.

Any experience with the good/bad?

Not sure if it is The Best but I used an Adco cover from Camping World. It was well made and did the job as well as can be expected. The key to using any cover IMO is to make sure that ALL sharp edges are padded to prevent the cover from tearing. Life expectancy is 3 years at best.

Adco is the most popular cover out their and has a couple of levels. The ones that are about $350.00 - $450.00 work well, but usually only last about a year or two. Adco use to be about 15 miles from my house and they made me one out of the "duck cloth" material that is used on boats. In 05, it cost about $1200.00. It won't rip for years and is well worth it if you keep your coach covered. I don't know if they still make this high end cover.

The problem with the expensive cover was that it was HEAVY and difficult to get on the roof. I mounted a plastic garden box (Home Depot) on top of an 8' set of polls so that I could pull the cover out of the box while on the roof.

Covers are a great idea, but we take our coach out about every 4-5 weeks. I got tired, as most do, of putting it on and taking it off. It only goes on now when I know the coach will be parked for more than a couple of months.

I agree w/Dennis. They last about 3 years & that was with me repairing the pokes/rips in it each year even when we tried our best to pad or remove sharp/protruding items. Although a cover is better than none if it'll be sitting for months exposed to the sun & elements. You can see pics of ours HERE.

I have had two different Adco covers, for two different Motorhomes . Like everyone says, they only last two or three years. Padding and protecting from edges and sharp objects. We live in Oklahoma, and the wind really comes sweeping down the plains. IMHO that is what determined the life more than anything else. They are heavy and hard to get on the roof. And they do rub the paint where they move in the wind. First one was for 26 ft, second 38'.

I bought a cover for a trailer I had.

The first time my wife, daughter and I put it on.

The second time my wife and I put it on.

The third time everybody hid out till I had it on.

I quit using it.

First time I put mine on it was new in the bundle. It was a challenge getting it on the roof between me and my son in law. Once on the roof and spread out, it went on fairly easy from there.
When I took it off, I went on the roof and pulled up the sides and with my helper on the ground, he pulled it off the back end and stuffed it into a 50 Gal. Plastic Garbage can while I guided it off the back of the roof. The 40' cover just fit into the can, put the lid on and wheeled it away. Piece of Cake.
Come time to put it back on, tied a rope to the end of the cover at the top of the Garbage can and went up the roof. Pulling the rope up and the cover to the Front of the roof while my helper guided it along on the ground. Rolled the sides down and tied it off. Worked pretty slick. Caution, pick a Calm day and things go easy, Windy Day and it can get Ugly. Had it on and tied in about 40 minutes.
