Question Best place to replace fiberglass patio awning??

We have the ORIGINAL fiberglass patio awning, from 2003, on our Fleetwood Providence. Where is the BEST, most dependable place to have that awning replaced? We see special run frequently at Camping World, but we're just a little leery. We'll also be replacing the ten year old tires this summer. We'll take any advice you can offer.....and yes, we are FMCA members.

Well,
In all the years we've been RVing, not quite sure I've ever heard of a fiberglass awning. Now, I'm at this time, assuming you're speaking of the roll out awning on the passenger side of the RV, correct? If not, then I don't think I can help. The only time I've heard of fiberglass awnings are the corrugated type on residential applications. Most of the time, roll out awnings are some form of plastic or, like ours, Sunbrella material.

Most awnings are vinyl or acrylic material. We had ours replaced at Lazy Days in Tampa when they had a sale. Almost any RV dealer can do the replacement, watch for sales or special offers.

Yeah,
I meant to say Vinyl, not plastic.

Try a upholstery shop that does boat tops.

A 2003 Providence is likely to have woven acrylic awning rather than vinyl. Vinyl is not a woven fabric and requires no waterproofing.

Question Acrylic

I'm sure it's woven acrylic....not fiberglass. Silly me! LOL! Yes, we priced Camping World in Tucson when we were there in January.....but we wondered if there was a better place to get it? We'll be going to the Fleetwood Factory next week for an appointment. Should we have it replaced there?
