Bike Rack Dilemma
We're looking for a bike rack for our 40 ft. Monoco Windsor. We are also towing a vehicle on a Master Tow dolly. We're mostly concerned about turning clearance between the MH and toad. We are against hanging the bikes off the MH ladder. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

What is bad about hanging them from the ladder?? That's what I do. I bought some hangers that are specifically made for that. It might not look very good, but that is my only option at the moment.

Do you have a hitch on your toad?
I have hitch mounted rack and is easily moved from any of my vehicles.

The toad does have a hitch, but we're wanting to avoid having to remove the bikes and rack for day trips, etc., as we will soon become full time.

Why remove them just because you want to drive the car on a day trip? There are locks which will prevent theft of the bikes and rack. You will hardly notice it's there.

Same here.I put the bikes on the toad, or on the coach
when not towing.

I agree about not hanging on the ladder.
Have you looked at a dual hitch extension, and then using a hitch mounted bike rack?

Exactly! I've left mine on my vehicle for a week or so at at a time just because I knew I was take them to go riding the following weekend...no need to remove them unless you have an SUV and you need to get in and out of the back. But then some racks will tilt down to allow access.
And I believe all the racks (mine does) will fold up vertically out of the way when no bikes are loaded.

There are a couple of concerns about leaving bikes on the back of our toad vehicle while on day trips...locks are fine and dandy, but bikes attract attention. Ever heard of a master key (bolt cutters)? That's being pro-active. ☺

I just removed a custom bike rack holder from my rig. I used it for a two bicycle carrier. So the bikes were in the carrier over the tow bar and should fit over a tow dolly. If you are interested send me a pm. I also have an excellent bike cover the goes over the tray type rack. Send me a pm maybe we can work something out.
The rack holders the you can buy are not tall enough.

Not agreeing here. If you are worried about this sort of theft off your toad why would you not be concerned of that theft on your MH while you are out on day trips?
I attach mine to my toad.

I have the double hitch. Have never had a problem with it or turning with my Tow dolly and toad. I could move the hitch to my toad if needed as well. Never worry about my bikes, use heavy bike lock to lock all 3 to the rack.

Exactly what I'd recommend. It puts the bikes higher up also away from tow vehicle.
