Black Tank Sensors
I own a 2007, Allegro Bus, QSP. Where are the black tank sensors located and how do I get to them? My readout shows full all the time. I have tried everything to clear them, but nothing works. Can I replace them?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I'll leave the answer to your question to the Tiffin experts but black tank sensors are infamous for getting fouled and giving false readings.

I am on my third RV with tanks and I have never gotten an accurate reading from any of them. Let us know if you get an answer....

If you can see your tank, the sensors are screws into the plastic tank with telephone line wires attached. Have you tried the GEO method of tank cleaning? https://sites.google.com/site/cbruni/ It worked for me. Calgon Water softener is tough to find but can be ordered on Amazon.

You probably have a clean tank. Just get a SeeLevel and be done with false readings from OEM sensors in the tank. Seelevel II Model 709 Tank Monitoring System
Simple install and you can use multiple panels for convenient viewing. Sensors are mounted outside the tank...so no problem with fouled internal sensors.

I have ignored the sensors for 20 years. I just dump all tanks every 4 or 5 days. I have no idea if they even light up!

Yeah we found that every 7 days was a good schdule for use. So we just dump every 7 days . Sensors were never right from day 1

There are two ways to adjust the tank sensors on a Newmar.
While camping check the black tank with flashlight for water height down thru the pipe entrance, wait till its near the top and adjust the sensor.
When your Gray tank is full will over flow into shower tub floor.
I can see my fresh water tank and can adjust tank level, if you over fill water will flow out of duck bill overflow drain.
Your LP Tank when you get it filled adjust the sensor, will be 80% full when tank is full.

We have half the problem you have. Yep...always shows half full!! You can try filling the tank with a spray nozel from a hose (if your tank is directly below the urinal) and sometimes this will work. Otherwise, like the above posters, just dump it at at normal intervals.

Our current MH has a Sensa Tank Level Monitoring System ( LevelGuard® SensaTank II Monitoring System with Field-Effect sensing technology by TouchSensor™), it is the only one that has worked for us, and we are on RV number five.
Having said that, if you keep using the black tank until it 'belches' you can tell when it is time to dump.

I have found i dump the Gray water at about a 3:1 ratio to Black water. Both my gauges are screwed up but my Fresh Water tank gauge works fine. So just figure out your tanke capacities and do the math. As far as the black water goes I just take a flash light and take a look down the toilet with the valve open.
