All of us have had to make this decision at some point - My Ah ha moment was when I left my Coach for a winter repair at the Factory - they Used air to Drain and Blow out everything and anti-freeze in all the drains, worked for them and has served ME well for the Last 20 years.

That said do what makes you feel Comfortable - both methods, if Done Correctly WORK.

JMHO,

I do both , blow out all lines and drain the HW tank. Then bypass the HW tank and pump antifreeze through the system. I disconnect the inlet line to the pump and insert the line into the jug of antifreeze and run the pump till all the taps and toilet have pink coming out. I also dump the antifreeze down the drains to prevent the traps from freezing. If you dump the antifreeze into the fresh tank , it takes forever to get it all out.

I have never blown out, just pumped antifreeze. I have caught small samples of the pink as it has come out of the faucets, and after the first 1-2 seconds, there appears to be no dilution, based on color. And no problems numerous times down to the high teens to low twenties.
