Blue Ox installation

Installing Blue Ox BX1138 to tow my 2016 Jeep Cherokee and have run in to problems attaching the breakaway due to shutter behind grill. Cannot attach breakaway to bumper since the plastic surrounding to the shutter slides over the bumper. Anyone run across this problem?

On our Grand Cherokee we bolted the break-away switch to the plastic bumper overlay using fender washers to reinforce that back side.

The shop that installed on my 2015 Grand Cherokee fabricated a mount for the break away and other components that had to be installed. This is my first post so I don't know how to post photos, but basicly he cut out plastic so components fit and bolted to the metal mount he fabricated. No problems so far, had it done little less than a year ago. Good Luck.
