Blue Sky Insurance Rate Hike

I have been with Blue Sky since 2012 and paying $1500 a year and just got my renewal and went to $2999 a year so i called and they said it was because of my area , the underwriter told me they had dropped Blue Sky i don't know what she meant by that , but anyway i did a search and got Quotes from several companies and Hartford Blew it out the park for the same coverage its $722 a year , so has anyone here had any experience with Hartford good / bad ????

Would recommend researching before you buy. Look at customer satisfactions and ratings. I also reviewed better business bureau and googled insurance ratings/rankings before I decided on an insurance company. At the end of the day, it is more about who will stand behind there product than the rate quoted.

Had the same experience with Blue Sky. Seems they were purchased by another underwriter in late 2013. Not good! I shopped and of course used due diligence. FWIW ended up with an RV broker, Twin Peaks, out of Ft. Lauderdale FL. They hooked us up with National Interstate that was a fair rate for high quality service coverage. Many folks on the forum also have National Interstate and I've not read any negative reviews.

Hartford did the exact same rate change to me and I dropped them. Must be in tables/policies of some or most of the companies.

Always make your broker shop around. You don't have to take a hit without fighting.

Blue Sky did the same thing to us, we ended up with State Farm for a big savings.

Just got my renewal from Blue Sky, exact same rate as last year ($1057), zero change. Going to renew with them again for another year. Good luck!

I am glad you researched and I believe you found a good insurance company that will stand behind you.

Consider yourself lucky not to end up with Nationwide (they use a lot of sub company names) but still the same lousey run around if you have a claim.
