72F is quite comfortable. I'd just open a few windows and run the fantastic or maxair exhaust fan. Tell her you love her and don't want to kill her...just yet lol.

CO is carbon monoxide like engine exhaust and burning something,
CO2 is what you exhale, what plants breathe, some fire extinguishers are CO2

RV's have CO detectors, LP detectors, Smoke detectors, some have low oxygen alarms.

I camp at events where everyone runs their genny 24/7
keep your CO sensor current and run it if neighbors permit

Let's say you decide that everything will be ok. What is the price if you are wrong?
Dad, is that you? Are you trying to send a message from the grave? You have always had a great way to communicate, never gets old. Glad to see you are still an angry old man.

Carbine monoxide is a colorless oderless gas. It binds with red bloodcells and blocks them from carrying oxygen to your cells. You won't even know your are breathing it even if awake. You will just fall asleep and never wake up.

Nice way to go, except that nagging C0 alarm will keep waking you up. [emoji3]

Same here. I have no qualms about running mine overnight while I sleep when using my home-built genturi. I would NOT do it without it and I wouldn’t do it with campers around in tents unless they all were happy with my generator running all night. Also, some generators are more quiet than others. Which might change my position on running it with others around.

I would definitely NOT run it without a genturi if any campers were sleeping anywhere near my exhaust. Tragedies have already occurred when some were sleeping too near the exhaust.

Genturie Only

You can make your own.

Save your life .
Get one and use it.

Multiple alarms , detectors and a fan to circulate air in the coach also.

Inspect your generator box and make certain that it is air tight.

Several families have perished on boats around the world on a hot muggy night when the air lays low over the water.

We are about to spend 3 nights boondocking. It will be 88 during the day down to 72 at night.

DW says she has to have the a/c on to sleep. Since the gen is under the back corner of our bedroom, I'm concerned about dying of CO poisoning even though we have an alarm in the center of the RV. I don't mind running the generator for a few hours to cool things down, but doubt that would last all night.

Additionally, there will be about a dozen other campers in our vicinity - everything from tents to other Class A's. I'm betting none of them want to hear a generator at 2 AM.

So I was just wondering: how do y'all handle this situation?
First find a Battery Operated Fan - wife will love you for it - If you have ever slept with the Generator under your Head you will Likely not Enjoy it - One of the many reasons for owning a diesel Coach.

Second Note - if it runs and you are still alive after a few hours before you fall asleep - likely good for the night. JMHO (Years ago we spent many a night sleeping on top of the Generator - Not Fun - but still alive to tell you about it -

When Boondocking/Dry Camping with others - just be respectful and allow at least 8 - 10 - 12 hours of NO GENERATOR - YNP Madison Campground rules - Per NPS regulations, generators may not exceed 60 decibels.
Generators may be used only between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
- -

Pretty Simple just follow the rules or maybe if no rules get together and just ask others what they think - As what ever you do it will not bother Me

Last - personal note here - be sure to have a way to make coffee without the Generator - 8 o'clock is way to late for a first cup of Coffee. -

Best of Luck, enjoy the time with your new friends Boondocking, -

Just go to RV park. You'll both be happier.

Corton,

You rig likely has the Onan MicroQuiet 4000, like mine. Micro nor Quiet it ain't.

Not as bad as a construction generator, which ruined a few acres of camper's peace at a casino we were at, but not so good for neighbors either.

I agree with the earlier commenter who said it would be "beyond rude" to operate after hours...

Better to stay at an Rv Park to make wife happy then drive toad with chairs and cooler to campsite to spend the day with people who still like you.
