Broken down on 95 north in Georgis right now

Hope someone can help. We stopped at a rest stop and everything was fine. Shut down the rig for 30 minutes. Restarted fine. Went to merge back onto 95 and the rig won't go over 25 mph. No warning lights on the dash all gauges are in normal operating zones and yes the brakes are off. 330 Cat Allison tranny. Any ideas?

Can you tell if it's shifting or is it an engine power loss? Are the engine RPMS up ?

Maybe all it needs is a reset.

Cut off everything including coach and house batteries. Wait a couple of minutes, and energize everything. Maybe this will solve your problems .

Other than that, I'm at a loss.

I filled up once and the fuel filter plugged and made my CAT misfire on hills. Bad fuel? Water in fuel?

The engine will rev to 2 grand. It shifts into about 2nd gear and that's it.

Too many things to list, You said a rest stop on I-95, Where are you? You might be able to "limp" to the next exit (run the shoulder with 4-ways) and find parking, For example there is a shopping mall just off Exit 49 I think (Might be 39) Darien, and and two campgrounds within 3 miles of that location. I like the n.w. one best.

when was the last time you changed fuel filters? an engine will rev to 2000, if it has no load.

They were changed before this trip. Roadside service says it sounds like we got bad fuel at our last fill up. They can't drain it roadside.

If this is a CAT, then I am not sure if it is one of the newer engines that need DEF. If it is an engine that needs DEF, then the default when the DEF is low is to limit speed.......

If you're by a truck stop or Wal Mart, you can buy some fuel conditioner if you think its bad fuel.Diesel 911.

Even if you can only do 25mph, it's best to get off the highway and limp off an exit.

Ummm - maybe a REALLY stupid question: if the engine is revving OK, is the transmission stuck in a lower gear, or is the GEAR SELECTOR set to a lower gear, not allowing a higher speed before the engine hits max revs????
