Buy Tuscany or Kountry Star??
Looking to upgrade from my 2001 Safari Panther 425 to either 2006 Tuscany 4074 or 2005 Kountry Star. Any pros or cons? Both diesel pusher w Cat
Ideas on what to look for and ask? I'm a single lady, so need a game plan before I go to the dealer! Thanks for any info.

I think it is all about the floor plan, and do you like how
the coach looks, inside and out. If it isn't good looking
you are not going to be happy long term.
Both are good. You must get complete written
maintenance histories on either, showing that
qualified professional companies, performed the
required maintenance and service.

Partial to Newmar. I was very impressed with my ability to get factory parts on my 2002 Newmar Dutchstar 3852. 330 kitty on a Freightliner.

Newmar bias here too.
Previously was spoiled by a new American Coach, and now have a 2005 Newmar. After 6 months of going through everything. (I'm a closet mechanic) I am pretty satisfied with how it's built.

Hi bullcity,
For me, it would be Newmar all the way. I have an 05 with 90K miles and it is running great. That being said, to keep this as simple a s possible consider these items:
1. floor plan
2. will the coach carry all your stuff and you (CCC or NCC)?
3. will the coach tow the vehicle you want to tow (GCWR-GVWR) and the hitch rating?
After the coach passes these three points, one can make the decision as easy or difficult as one wants.
One should have the coach checked out by:
1. RVIA certified tech (for the house part)
2. certified tech for the engine/transmission
3. certified tech for the chassis
If you can, consider a extended service contract for as long as you can get one for. This is because you do not know the coach since it was made. There are many things that can go wrong.

To help you out here is a Brochure and Owner Guide for the KSDP.
Newmar construction either a 2005 or 2014.
Good luck in what ever you decide.

I'm shocked at the dissatisfaction in the Tuscany. I have a 2008(made by Damon) and have ZERO issues with the quality of the build or material. I have put over 30k on the odometer and over 1k hrs on the generator in the last year alone. We "dry camp" at the tracks we race and drive a day or two, stay for the weekend and drive back. Lots of setup and tear down. Slides in and out. No real issues to speak of. I love my Tuscany.

We have had our '05 Kountry Star for 2 years and other than minor repairs, have had no problems at all. Have nothing to compare it to as this is our first RV. Good luck on which ever you choose.

Hi.
I have an 05 Kountry Star 3910. It's been really good,
No issues other than little stuff.
I Sell New Newmars and I drive one.
Chances are you would be happy with it.

Can't believe you are shocked. Problems with Tuscany quality are all over this site.
