Buying advice

First time in the market, trying to decide between a 2007 Georgetown 373 from a dealer, a 2008 Georgetown that I know has been meticulously maintained and a several year older diesel (Tiffin or Coachman) with a lot more mileage.

Also, any advice on problems with this size motorhome and national/state parks is appreciated. Thoughts?

I personally wouldn't compare gas to diesel coaches if I were making a decision. I'd decide on which type I wanted to own, then compare like models--diesel to diesel and gas to gas.

I would go with one I know had been maintained like it was supposed to over another with an unknown provenience. However, I wouldn't buy a well maintained gas coach over an unknown diesel if I wanted a diesel and vice versa.

It is hard, lots that I hear indicate many of the diesels were higher quality, etc. but since my spend is limited the would mean going about 4 years or more older than the 2008 gas one that I personally know has been taken care of. Thank you for your input! It is appreciated.

What is your planned usage? Once a month weekends plus a couple three 1-2 week long vacation? If yes gas is fine. Or more usage and longer trips? If so, then consider diesel.

IMHO.

We bought a 15 year old higher end diesel over a newer gas coach because we wanted a diesel pusher and all that comes with it. Gas or diesel is a hard decision. Good luck choosing.

Yep, we bought our last three DP's with that in mind. So far we haven't been able to get away to use them more than a few weeks at a time. Family, health, etc. just keep getting in the way!

Buy a coach in 'GREAT Cared-for' condition: you'll know... (if buying used) THINK about the size bed.... sleeping is VERY important for most of us... {Ours has the unusual KING size bed} and we LOVE it.... Washer/Dryer combo is a nice/ handy touch for those wet towels in the winter months....
