Looked at a used DP at camping world in Springfield Mo. My whole experience felt like I was dealing with a low class used car dealer. Did not buy. Down the road found a great dealer, great warranty, made a purchase.

You are talking about a used motorhome, right?

I bought my first motorhome from Camping World in Indy. Overall it was a pretty good experience. They made it very clear that this was a USED motorhome, and that while they did guarantee everything to function, and were happy to do a multi hour PDI and fix anything on the spot, there was absolutely zero warrantee once the back wheels cleared the curb.

Ditto on the pre-purchase inspection by someone not affiliated with the seller. Best money you can spend.

Bought our first Class A gas from CW in Churchville NY. The saleman made all kinds of promises to fix what I identified in writing but service made it so painful to deal with them that I took the parts home (after they came in 3 months later) and fixed it myself. I too tripped over the tire age issue by my own ignorance. The coach had 29k miles, I asked how long the tires would good for. Saleman told me 80k miles. He did not mention they were 7 years old and I only learned of tire age issues later on.
So, when we decided to upgrade to a new MH, we did not even consider this location.

Just looked at some used RV's at a CW and was really surprised at the condition of the ones we looked at. Horrible conditions, and looked as though they took them in as trades and never touched them to clean or repair. Also very over priced for the poor condition they were in. I would be very skeptical and careful, if I were to buy anything from them.

Camping World in Greenwood,In changed my Oil, Filter, Lubed Chassis, Generator and Filter in an Interesting Way. They wiped own the Engine Oil Filter, that was all. They did not even wipe the Generator Filter I guess it was too hard to get to behind the door on the bottom.
Seriously they did not change anything but charged me for it all. When I checked they denied everything until I brought the Service Manager and Service Writer out to look. The Black oil in the engine was attributed to them using a PreColored oil. When I pointed out the Dusty Generator oil filter (behind the door) and the Grease fittings that were never touched they questioned the Service Tech, his response was " I guess I forgot".
They did refund my money, but I wonder how many Folks would have been on the way $4-5 hundred lighter and more importantly a seriously non maintained Coach.
Robert
PS Check my prior posts for the whole story.

I would NEVER TRUST them for any Service, Prep, Refurbishment or Honesty.
They seem to have a very poor Service Department. In all Fairness this was at the Indianapolis Store, I don't know about the others BUT a series of letters to Marc LeMoines drew no good result. Management is responsible for the Service Department and the Sales Dept..

I bought a 2 year old Tiffin Fred from CW,out of the 4 months I had it, it was at Camping World for 2 of them for various problems ,they do not keep many parts in inventory. We traded at Lazy Days and they gave us more than what we paid for it on trade.

I cringe every time I go into the CW store to buy parts.

Exclamation It's buyer beware! Do major pre-purchase inspection!

Camping World has always been a "definate mabe" on good and/or bad sales and service. Got my 2nd RV at CW and it was a good unit at a cood price with only a couple of minor coach problems. The big exception was the deliberate cover up of the condition the tires which had a heavy coat of tire gel that hid at first glance the very heavy dry rotting. My tire supplier indicated that they were actually at the dangerous stage and advised not to drive it above 30mph until all were replaced, including the spare. 7 tires and $1100 later. I've used their repair services once and was ok, but with very slow turn around results. I only use them for parts and supplies now or something I can't get reasonably done else where.

I was pleasantly pleased with my experience with CW. Chatanooga. I found my 2008 Bounder (new) on line there. I found several others at other locations but could not get any information when I tried to buy one. I could have purchased it 90 miles away but the shady dealer ran me off. I made my deal, got an offer for my trade and everything. I drove 800 miles to trade my old unit. The dealer and staff did everything they said and was a above board on everything. I had some warranty work closer to home but Fleetwood has been great to deal with. Most of everything we have added has come from CW. No problems.

Sounds like they may have hired the fired Jiffy Lube techs.

I wouldn't buy any type of rv from CW on a bet. To many horror stories from people that have unfortunately made that mistake.

Was dealing on a rig at CW, in Mesa, last winter, but never did purchase it. What I did like was that they have a few fully serviced sites on site so that you can hook up and spend a few days getting used to the rig, and identify anything that does not work, or you don't understand how to use. They "said" they would fix any issues we had, but their "techs" have done a thorough check out and everything did check out OK, but I think thats a standard line from any dealer.

I purchased my revolution at oakwood store also very nice sales department and got the deal I wanted. The service department needs a little work on doing things right the first time.
