C7 on Travel Supreme
Driving West, the heat out here has been 90 plus. Temperature of cooling system normal ranges about 178. 1st time driving in this heat, the cooling temp goes up to over 200-212. This is on the digital panel, and agrees with the guage. Radiator level good when cold. Does this seem normal??

Seems to be too high.
If you have a rear radiator you may need the radiator and CAC cleaned and the slobber tube extended/re-routed.
Our Cummins ISC 350 side radiator runs about 180° no matter what.

My C-7 runs about 190 one flat level ground when outside temp is cool. At 90 or so out side the readout is usually 196-198 but does go up on a hill unless I shift down and keep the rpms up. As mentioned you might clean the radiator and maybe change the thermostate. I'm not an expert but 178 seems low for normal operation based on other diesels I've owned in the past.

My C-12 runs at 190 degrees. I've never seen it above 194 or below 186, even today when the outside temp was nearly 100.

As others have said, check your radiator and CaC, they will get clogged with dust and oil film. Spray it down with simple green (when cold) let it sit for a bit then wash it out with a hose (no pressure washer) until clean. Also check you engine owners manual it will tell you the normal operating temp for your engine most have a thermostat that starts to open at 180 and is full open at 198. Your engine manual will also tell you what RPM your engine should be operated at for the best performance, rolling along with the engine turning to slow will make it run warmer. My 1999 ISC 350 cummins runs between 185-200 on a 100 degree day. If that doesn't help it it may be time to look at the T/stat, and fan clutch if equiped(rear mount radiator) Good luck.

All good advice so far. If that doesn't help here is something else to consider. You may have a side radiator with a fan that is controlled by your engine ECM. Check to see if the fan delays until the temperature is over 200 degrees to switch to high speed.

C7 temp
LI Mac, we have the same MH, 05 TS Envoy 38 DS 04. My Spartan manual states the temp range is from 195 to 212, as "normal" Hope this helps you.

Thanks to all for the input. Have a date next week for a oil change and having the cooling system flushed and checked.
