In the interests of full disclosure I should submit some caveats.

1) As phays pointed out, some of my mileage improvements could be due to higher operating temperatures. As near as I can interpolate, the engine and transmission temps now run about 15F-20F higher than pre-fix.
2) My calculations are only relevant to side radiator models with the AC condenser in one radiator segment.
3) I used higher generator fuel usage based on other peoples real world experiences.
4) I had no objective way to measure to effects of the power used by operating the engine AC compressor so I ignored that.

Subjectively I am more comfortable with the roof AC cooling than the cold air via the dash vents.

Have a nice day - Darrel

This is the most important part of the equation - comfort. On hot days, I run both the gen/roof A/C and the dash A/C. It is important for me to be comfortable.
