What is everyone's experience with Satellite TV? We just bought a new to us 2007 Country Coach. It has an in-motion satellite but I need to change from cable TV at my home in order to have a box to use in the Motorhome.....Otherwise, have to pay for two TV antenna services....I hear Direct Satellite is the best but I haven't talked to anyone who has Dish....I also hear your TV signal still goes out if there is a storm if you get satellite....Please give me your advise....Should I change to satellite or just keep cable and use the cable at the campgrounds? Thanks in Advance.....

I have in motion satellite (dish network). I seldom use it unless I am having cable problems at a CG. You can suspend service with them so you only pay for the time you use it. There is a $5 a month fee to do this but cheaper than full service.

I remember one "House Call" I made here where I'm camped.

Found the Winegard Wall plate with the switch, Light, Antenna connector and 12 volt connector.. Turned it off and WHAM.. You could cut yourself on the picture it was that sharp.

I have Direct TV at home and in my coach, and I love it. I piggy back my coach on my house acct. so I only pay an extra $6.00/receiver per month (2 in the coach). As far as losing signal in a storm, I do lose my HD signal if it's a really bad storm, but I have never lost my SD signal.

I never connect to the camp grounds cable system, it's just one less thing I have to worry about.

Now on my coach I do have 3 sat systems, KVH in motion (SD), and MotoSat for internet, and a Winegard HD system for HD TV.

Just pulled in a KOA in Benton Ill. tonite and had same problem. The connector on the cable pedestal was really messed up. I had to pull the center conductor on my cable with needle nose pliers to get a little more reach into the coax connector on the campground pedestal. Cleared up the snow and now it's Monday night football time. Have fun..
