Cameras on my 2008 Winnebago Tour

A few weeks ago I took my Tour into an authorized dealer for a routine inspection. They did find a couple of items that needed to be replaced but the camera system was not working when I went to pick it up. The service manager told me that they didn't do anything to the cameras and would be delighted to have it put back into the service bay to see what was wrong with it. Do these systems malfunction frequently or is there something else I am missing. Thanks!

Check the rear of the monitor to make sure all the connections are tight. They do have a tendancy to work loose sometimes. I they did any work near the connections they may have jarred them loose, or they simply worked loose when driving.

Do your side view cameras work when the turn signals are on? We are having the same problem, the rear camera goes off then back on with weird color. I figure it is only a problem with the rear camera because the two side and monitor work fine. We plan to take a look at the connections in the next few days to see.

I had a similar problem on my previous motorhome. My rear camera was intermittent. I thought I was going to have to replace the camera. By accident I discovered that the connection on the back of the monitor was loose, problem solved!!

Please let us know what you find.

No, all three are not working. Thanks for your reply.

Mine was due to a blown fuse. There are so many fuses on these rigs that it's hard to know which one it is. Mine was on a fuse block under the driver's side dash...laying on the floor. If your rig is like mine, you didn't even get a fuse block chart that tells you which fuses go with which accessory.

If all three cameras are not working, it is probably a monitor problem. Does the monitor have power? A blown fuse or loose power connection sounds like a more likely suspect. Did the dealer do any work involving anything near the monitor or fuse block?

Check your automotive and house 12v fuses. There may be multiple fuse blocks in your rig, so you'll need to find them.

Label the correct fuse after you find it.

It is likely to fail again just after your memory slips
as to its location.

Might also put a note in your owners manual.
You or someone ( next owner or a service tech ) will thank you.
