Camping World

Do you find CW to have good techs who do the job right ? Good service ? In other words is this a good place to have a new 15000 btu a/c installed ?

The best way to find out would be to check for individual dealership reviews at www.rvservicereviews.com
Not all CW dealerships have good reports. The sad part is the good ones get a bad rap because of the poor ones.

CW is a large chain, An as is always the case with such chains, Some stores the techs are good.. Some it depends on the tech, and some you should avoid.

Even General Motors has this problem.... Though I do admit the dealer made it right.

If the 15K btu A/C is a roof top mounted A/C I would think CP could easily install it. That installation usually is not difficult. You might give them a call and ask how many they have installed and if none then call around til you find a shop that has installed them. Just my opinion.

Camping World has been good to me for most common repairs. Anything else, take it to a specialist (Motor, Tranny, etc).

I have a friend that swears by them....I have not had any problems with them. For any service I have had done to my RV. At least not yet! My only complaint is their online ordering and cussomemore service. I ordered an one of these ADCO Deluxe Class C Windshield Covers - Product - Camping World it was out of stock.....when I questioned them about why I did not even get an e-mail about it being on back order they were rude. and getting a straight answer out of them was like pulling teeth on a Rattlesnake.

That depends on which CW your work is being done at. I have had some problems with the CW in Hammond LA. Have you thought about installing the A/C yourself? If it is a replacement unit it shouldn't be much to it.

They get a lot of practice on ac's so it should be done right the first time.

I've had a few things done at our local Camping World. Satellite Install and oil change. The work was good and for the most part the price was good. The only watch out is make sure your final bill is the same as you agreed to when you dropped off your rig.

On my satellite install the advertised labor for install was not what they charged me. They called about an hour before the time I was supposed to pick the rig up to let me know that it was taking a little longer and asked if I could give them a couple more hours. They never said anything about those two additional hours costing me, however when I showed up imagine my surprise when the bill was a couple hundred more than advertised. After 30 minutes and a manager we agreed on a fair labor for the install.

Doesnt apply when your trying to help someone out CW isnt a person per se they are an organization and sometimes you get screwed by some of these thus my question.. Your answer was of no help...

Actually it should help-it says the posters wouldn't have CW install another thing for them. As you said CW is an organization, not a person. Because of this their stores are franchises, good and bad. My experience has not been good - the Dothan AL CW messed up my Jeep brakes (burned) and tires (flat spots) dragging it around while trying to install an Even Brake braking system (wheels locked and Even Brake wouldn't release) . I had to fight to have them pay for fixing the Jeep but they did pay! It also depends on who their techs are for the day - over the 3 day period we dealt with the initial tech quitting, a new tech trying to figure out what he did and finally calling the Even Brake people for help. The AC, if it is a replacement, should be a straight-forward installation and CW should have done a bunch by now. So maybe you would have better luck than I (and a couple of others here) have had.
