All of the above suggestions are a great place to start. I couldn't agree more not buying everything you think you need in advance, best to add items as the need requires.

I would suggest you bring the Toad, how will you get to the store to purchase these "essentials"? You seriously don't want to break down the campsite and drive it to town. More-so, strongly consider if you need immediate medical care, kind of hard to take the Motorhome to the emergency clinic.

The water regulator and a quality surge protector are a MUST have. Factory warranty does not cover damage. I bought the Progressive hard wired surge/low voltage 50A protector while the coach was being built. It was the first item I installed. It was hard to get myself to cut that brand new shore cord, but it had to be done. Nothing wrong with the in-line plug in type. Low voltage is the biggest electrical appliance killer, think refrigerator and roof top a/c units. NOT a warranty replacement!!

Toss in a couple of twin sized fitted sheets, they should fit nicely over a standard picnic table and the fitted part keeps them on the table.
All the previous info is great, you might want a small bottle of bleach, just incase of a black tank Oops. No Charmin Tp!!

I keep Post-it notes in the rig. That way I can write down things that I need because once I'm home my memory of what I need is gone...until my next trip. After 3 years I still add to that list. You'll figure it out. The rug doesn't take up much room and is worth having it onboard.

The only thing not seen is the sea eagle inflatable kayak. Motorcycle goes in the bed of the truck with a rampage lift.

For your first trip keep it simple and make a list as you go along. Highly recommend driveway camping this weekend first. Get to know you coach and what it can or can not do. Have fun.

We have a large vinyl mat we got at Walmart, and a smaller door mat. I like both. Sometime we don't need or want to bother with the large one, so I can toss down the small one.

Do a short close to home shake down cruise alone without friends or ? and get it figured out. Checklists and flow patterns for arrival and departure. Get a couple of good shoe cleaning entry mats and go from there Good bottle of wine! I say this from experience and wishing I had done just that.

We are often camp inthe Florida State parks woods or down in the Keys. It prevents most dirt and sand from getting into the coach. Once we wre home I roll it out in the driveway and vaccume it. Folds up then secured with 2 bungie cords and back in a basement door.

When we folded our Prest-O mat we had bought a plastic storage container to fit it so there was never any wet, sandy mess in our bay. We left the lid off to give it circulation.

Love our Presto-fit 8 x 20 and thank those that pointed us in that direction. I also like this thread. Thank you for starting it. This is from our 1st year in the MH. I hope to have some updated photos after our CO trip next month.

I agree with all the previous replies that your first shakedown trip should be local, with cell service (in case you encounter a problem), full hook-ups so you can test those systems, and short (weekend).

We chose a campground that was under an hour away to figure out how everything worked on our rig and started a running list of maintenance/supplies. The stars may be perfectly aligned for you, but most of the time something isn't going to work as you expected. There were a lot of "little" things we didn't know how to work and that needed to be fixed. We were expecting this, so it was part of the fun.

Also, agree on sticking with the basics because you will fine tune your RV style and figure out what you need.

Here is the stuff we use.

Basics:
ladder, tools, lopper, gloves, leveling blocks, lighters, surge protector
bedding (think layers since weather can change from hot to cold when you're camping)
collapsible hamper to use as a trash can, trash bags
clear bins in various sizes to store stuff, scissors
water pitcher with filter
chairs - we have 3 different kinds (compact folding, folding with a side table, and gravity loungers for stargazing and napping)
air compressor, 50-30 dogbone adapter, heavy duty extension cord
extra batteries, flashlights, lanterns
long fresh water hose, Y valve for fresh water with regulator
lysol, disposable gloves, sewer hose kit and the extension hose
tank treatment (happy camper is my fav)
simple cleaning supplies for the inside (think multi-purpose)
kitchen and dining basics, plus paper/plastic goods
small trash cans for the interior (I have one under the kitchen and bathroom sinks), simple bathroom supplies

Extras:
camp stove and/or propane grill if you like to cook outside
journal - record the date, where you went, information, supplies needed for next trip, staple in campground maps
dvds, games, books, etc.
chargers (I bought extra sets so that they stay in the RV)
bright colored pool noodles to stick on the corners of slides (your kids will be crying if they hit their heads)
small folding side table
large folding table
fire gloves, fire tongs
outside mats (we have the super light ones that fold up, shake or rinse easily)
string lights, bucket

Whoa! That's a lot and probably not everything we use. Happy Camping!
