They could do that too, but in three years, they have never even tried. I guess they don't want to get to far from us LOL.
And we are almost always outside with them.

I sometimes have a 2 man tent on long stays I use as a garage to throw chairs and stuff in when it rains. It just seems easier than stuffing it all back in the cabinets.

Here's ours from last weekend, nothing fancy.
There is a small folding table between the two chairs that can't be seen, and another one came out later.
