Speaking of dumping the tanks. The black water valve on our coach is hidden behind a panel and a pain in the arse to manipulate. I had left the valve open after draining the black tank and put the end cap on. Next time I went to dump it and took the end cap off.......

DW job is to hand me latex gloves. She should have handed me a hazmat suit.

Buy yourself a 5 inch long 3 inch CLEAR View extension and that won't happen again.

In fact Valterra has a variety of clear fittings which allow you to see the "action".

only in a pinch

Last year I dislocated my right arm and shoulder at a motorcycle trials event. My DW drove home and handled everything. That included leaving the race track which was way up in the western moutains of Maryland about 6 miles back on a hilly, twisty and narrow dirt road. On the way back we always stop at our favorate and only free dump site in New Jersey, just over the Delaware Memorial Bridge and she did the nasty dirty thing for me. LOL She got that old snake out and dump it all. Flushed it and rolled it back up.

What a wonderful partner. She also drives better than me and not afraid to throttle the rig right between two tractor trailers at 70 mph. In her free time she cook real good food, cleans the RV, paints the inside of the house and even texture painted the ceilings. It ain't easy living with such an overwhelmingly wonder partner.

When the girls (wife & daughter) take the coach to a horse show they are on their own. Tanks come back home empty.
IMO she thinks it is easier than mucking horse stalls.

Well I guess I'll get scrutinized for this but..........................all she has to do is push the buttons! Yes we installed electric dump valves and like them a LOT! We are fulltime and with doing laundry and such they are sure handy. We can stand inside and look out the window in the slideout and see the hose with no problems while flipping the switch on or off. So go ahead and let me have it!

In this house/RV there has never been "female" or "male" jobs. Who ever is there does what needs to be done. Raised 2 boys that way too. All 3 males in the house know how to cook and clean. The youngest, Thom and I also know how to fire black powder weapons, do stage combat and well lots of things. Even if I don't know it I will learn just so that I can do it myself and that includes changing the spark plugs on my bike by myself.

My wife takes the kids racing all over the country and more often than not I'm stuck at work so she knows how to do it all. She can even change out piston and rings on a bike along with an occasional clutch. I'm proud of her! I've walked her through many a problem with the coach over the phone.

DW is quite competent at most any chore she chooses to tackle. I get some of my best ideas from her in a back door fashion!

X2 for the "poo view". DW just spent three weeks in Miami alone, she dumps with no issues.

Scott,
Your comment is not fair. Seems you are old salts and have traveled. You have probably gone into restaurants and have seen roaches on the wall while eating and said to yourself it's only a roach. You have had the 03:00 in the morning while on the boat when the feces hits the Westinghouse.
From reading your blog I know your first has been there done that.
Don't ask me how I know.
Oh I just sold my Morgan and bought a motorhome
